Laura began her studies at Maya Jaguar Private Technical Institute this school year, as a first-year high school student. She wants to be a teacher, either in a primary school, or a junior high school.

Her mother lost her eyesight five years ago from an infectious disease that required a few surgeries. Life was hard for the family, as you can imagine. Her parents want her to continue her studies, but are unable to help. Her father had heard about the Instituto Maya Jaguar from friends who had suggested she could get a good education there. They appreciate and are grateful for the guidance!

Laura is looking forward to her younger sister beginning her high school education there, as Laura begins her last year there. She plans to study at a residential or on-line university to realize her dream to become a teacher. She says her first choice is to teach at Maya Jaguar to be the inspiration to others that her teachers have been to her. She’s in no hurry to have a family.
