Our students ask for 100 tablets for next school year
Most U.S. schools have already started a new school year. In Guatemala, our Maya students are working diligently to complete their current school year, which ends in mid-October. Meanwhile our volunteers are already preparing for school year 2026, which begins in January.
To continue our transformative secondary education curriculum of academic and technical learning in 2026, we need to replenish campus educational supplies. We estimate 55 tablets for our anticipated enrollment of middle and high school students. Another 40 will be used by our bilingual teachers for preschoolers in three villages participating in our bilingual early literacy program, along with library books, puzzles, blocks, crayons, pencils and paper. The remaining tablets will be used for our ongoing tutoring program for elementary school students in those villages who need additional assistance to strengthen their Spanish language competency and math skills.
At a cost of $100, these inexpensive tablets are surprising effective and include a keyboard, mouse, case, browser, camera, and a USB port, which the students use to transfer and store their assignments. Graduating with confidence means gainful employment opportunities for our students and access to university studies.
Your gift of the cost of one or more tablets at only $100 will empower our Maya students immeasurably!
Your donation now will make 2026 another successful school year!
Thank you
